A 72-year-old man is facing charges after threatening to shoot the windows of a Duluth school near his home, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of a man making threats to Laura MacArthur Elementary School around 6 p.m. Thursday.
Duluth PD says officers went to the suspect's home in the 5500 block of West Sixth Street, about a block from the school, and arrested him on preliminary threats of violence charges.
A search warrant was executed at the man's home, where authorities seized a shotgun, assault rifle and various ammunition.
The incident comes just over two weeks after a 23-year-old man opened fire with a rifle through the windows of Annunciation Church in Minneapolis, killing two Annunciation Catholic School students and injuring 21 others as they observed Mass.
