Thousands of Nagasaki residents welcomed the Japanese Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and their daughter Princess Aiko by holding up lanterns on a building rooftop visible from the royal family's hotel Friday.
When the lights of the Imperial family's hotel room, were turned on, there were screams of joy.
People cheered from the roof top, and gazed at the sky lit by fireworks to celebrate the visit.
