MURRAY, Ky. – A former Murray High School teacher faces sexual abuse charges following an investigation.
Kentucky State Police arrested former Murray High School teacher Jason Shelby on charges of rape, 3rd Degree, and sexual Abuse, 1st Degree.
KSP received a report in August 2018 from the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) alleging possible sexual relations between Shelby and at least two students.
Allegations against Shelby date back to 2005, with the first received in 2018.
Shelby resigned from his teaching position in 2018.
KSP says one victim came forward with evidence, and a warrant was issued for Shelby. Shelby was taken into custody on September 10, 2025.
Shelby was lodged at the Calloway County Jail. He is no longer listed as a current inmate at the jail.
