COLUMBUS — Less than one-and-a-half years since ground was broken, Puget Sound Energy’s Beaver Creek Wind Project in northern Stillwater County is sending power to homes in the Pacific Northwest.
To celebrate the wind farm’s completion, more than 100 Stillwater County residents attended an appreciation dinner at the Civic Center on Monday evening.
The 88-turbine project, which has the capacity to power 83,000 homes, represents the culmination of PSE’s latest effort toward meeting Washington State’s clean energy goals. But the project also yields local benefits: several million dollars in impact fees, future tax payments for Stillwater County, a handful of local jobs and the realization of one Stillwater County rancher’s long-held vision.
