BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The 2025 baseball season is over for the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
Greensboro's postseason run ended on Thursday night when the Brooklyn Cyclones took a 4-1 victory at Maimonides Park, winning the first two games of the best-of-three series to advance to the South Atlantic League Championship Series.
It's the first championship series for Brooklyn since it moved to the South Atlantic League, and it's Brooklyn’s first appearance in a championship series of any kind since its New York-Penn League title in 2019.
Brooklyn right-hander Joel Diaz earned the win for the Cyclones, tossing 6.2 innings and giving up two hits while striking out two and walking two.
