When William Perry Morgan and his wife, Jo Hall, first arrived at Greensboro College in 2011, the college had no musical theater program.
"David Schram, who was chair at the time, very quickly realized how gifted Perry was," Hall, dean of the School of the Arts at the college, said. "He said, 'take a look at the courses on the book and see what we need to create a musical theatre program.' So, Perry did exactly that."
Perry died Aug. 29 when his Ford Focus ran off the road, hit a barrier and then struck a tree on Pembroke Road.
Hall says the theater program is her husband's legacy.
"Since Perry passed, so many of the kids have come up to me and said, 'Perry is the reason I'm here,'" Hall said. "Even the freshman who have only really known him for two weeks they feel like they've known
