Jimmy Thelin admits it was a difficult call to leave Alfie Dorrington out of Aberdeen’s Conference League squad but insists the player has taken the news well. Dorrington returned to Pittodrie on another loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur last month and is one of four summer signings not to make the cut, along with Kenan Bilalovic, Kjartan Már Kjartansson and Mitchell Frame. UEFA have however introduced a late rule that would allow clubs to temporarily replace players in their squads in the event of an injury.
