MONROE, Ohio (WXIX) - The Garver Family Farm is making tough decisions and changes to its upcoming fall festivities because of a decrease in the harvest for pumpkins this year.

Michael Garver and his family are the fourth generation to oversee the farm, and this year has come with some challenges.

He said weather changes and pollination led to a 50% decrease in yield for pumpkins.

“So, you can see what’s out there,” Garver shows. “[We] kind of knew early on, ehh, it’s, ‘but they’ll come, they’ll come, so.’ They never came.”

The Garver Family Farm posted an announcement on social media this week that, along with a 3-cent increase for pumpkins this year, wholesale orders and the pick-a-pumpkin patch will be closed for this year.
