BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Litigation continues as neighbors near Wallings and Broadview Roads oppose Sheetz’s plans to build a new, 24-hour gas station where a Rite Aid once stood.

Chris Colasent is part of the community action group that installed lawn signs across the neighborhood that say “Safety First!”

“There was about 110 made of them, and there was a big demand for them,” he said.

The debate over the future of the gas station goes back to a city council meeting from November 18, 2024 . Mayor Sam Alai told council that Sheetz planed to apply for a permit to build its station.

“Sheetz gas station has gone through its due diligence, is going to make an application with the city to build on the corner of Broadview and Wallings Road,” the mayor said.
