NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Officers have arrested an underage youth in connection with an attempted armed robbery incident Thursday night.

The youth, whose name has not been released because of their age, is charged with attempted armed robbery, according to jail records.

The victim told investigators that the suspect reportedly approached him and asked for money outside of a store on Tuesday on Dorchester Road. When he told the suspect that he did not have any, the victim went inside the store to use the ATM.

When leaving the store, the suspect approached the victim again, lifted his shirt and revealed a gun tucked into his waistband. The victim then fled quickly into the store and called the police.
