SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Authorities have confirmed an arrest in connection with a case involving two women who were found dead in the Midlands last month.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said 29-year-old Tiamo Henry Mitchell Drakeford, of Camden, was arrested Friday and charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime as well as desecration of human remains.

The sheriff’s office confirmed Drakeford is charged in the deaths of Christine McAbee and Kristen Grissom. Both women, who were from the Lowcountry, were found dead in an area of Richbow Road on Aug. 8.

It was later determined McAbee died of a gunshot wound, while Grissom’s autopsy did not reveal any physical trauma.
