LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -- The School District of Lancaster is ensuring that student safety is its utmost priority after public outcry over a staffer who posted negatively about Charlie Kirk after he was assassinated, according to officials.

The district is working "closely" with law enforcement to monitor any threats within the coming days, Superintendent Dr. Keith Miles Jr. wrote in an email to parents.

"We will continue to work with law enforcement to monitor any threats to our safety in the coming days," Miles wrote. "As we have said in the past, threatening language and hostile actions have no place in our district. Students deserve to learn, and staff deserve to work in schools that are safe and focused on education."
