DEVILS LAKE — The bond restrictions for a former Benson County chief deputy accused of misusing power in various ways were significantly lessened during a hearing Friday afternoon, Sept. 12.
Travis Lee Carlson, 37, appeared for the hearing at the Ramsey County Courthouse in Devils Lake.
Carlson is charged with 12 offenses, including three counts of Class C felony tampering with public records by making false entries as a public servant, four counts of Class A misdemeanor official oppression for unlawful arrest, two counts of Class A misdemeanor public servant refusing to perform a duty, one count of Class A misdemeanor failure to appear as a witness or produce information and two counts of Class B misdemeanor disorderly conduct harassment.
The most severe offenses, Class C felonies, ca
