PARK RAPIDS — An inadvertent whistle wiped out a key East Grand Forks Senior High touchdown right before halftime.

It didn't matter.

The Green Wave opened the second half with a flurry and beat Park Rapids 37-24 on Friday, Sept. 12, for their first victory of the season.

"I'm really excited for the guys," Green Wave coach Ryan Kasowski said. "I'm happy for them. They put in a lot of work every week. There are still a lot of things we can clean up. Any time you get a win, you never take it for granted. Winning is hard. We want our guys to celebrate this and come back to work next week ready to get another one."
