Cowetans gave the Board of Commissioners a piece of their mind at the county fairgrounds regarding the county's proposed data ordinance.

The public hearing for the ordinance concluded on Thursday night with more than half of the room wearing red, representing opposition to Project Sail by Citizens for Rural Coweta, and a smaller portion of the attendees wearing blue to represent their support for the data center.

More than 400 people attended the public hearing.

At the end of the public hearing, the commissioners unanimously voted to conclude the public hearing and review the next draft of the ordinance at the board's Oct. 16 work session.

County Administrator Michael Fouts said the board could set a date for a new public hearing at the board's next meeting.
