New listings and pending home sales were down last month compared to the same period a year ago, but closed sales hit 733, a 2% increase, a report out Friday showed.
The Upstate Alliance of Realtors said 897 homes were listed and its Multiple Listing Service had 735 sales pending in August, down 1% from the same month of 2024.
The median sales price rose 5% year-over-year, reaching $255,000, a new release said. In June, that median price reached an all-time high of $268,000 – up 7% from the previous year, a July report showed. In July, the area's median was $249,950.
Mike Patmore, president of the MLS, said in a statement Friday that market conditions are holding firm and the stability is a positive sign.
