A teacher for Minnetonka Public Schools has been placed on leave for an apparent post on social media that wished death upon slain right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.

The teacher, who works in special education at an elementary school, allegedly shared a post reporting the shooting of Kirk at an event in Utah on Wednesday, along with the comment: "Yay! I hope he's dead."

A screenshot of the post was obtained by conservative Minnesota news outlet Alpha News, and Minnetonka Public Schools confirmed to Bring Me The News that the teacher in question had been placed on leave.

"We have been made aware of this. As soon as we learned of it, we reached out to the employee, who immediately removed the post," a spokesperson said.
