AMSTERDAM — A stop sign will be added on northbound Bridge Street to convert the intersection at Route 30 and Gilliland Avenue into an all-way stop as a proactive safety measure amidst increasing pedestrian traffic in the area.

Amsterdam Ward 5 Alderman James Martuscello championed the change in his district to slow vehicle traffic and ensure pedestrians are able to cross through the intersection, after consulting with city police regarding a safety concern raised by a neighborhood resident.
