AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Sod Poodles defeated the Midland Rockhounds, 13-12, in 11 innings Thursday night after Ben McLaughlin walked it off.
The Soddies were down 7-1 after the middle of the third inning, but bounced back in the seventh inning, scoring six runs.
They were then down three in the ninth inning. With hopes of tying and extending the game, Jack Hurley had a two RBI double to get it within one run. Then, a wild pitch gave Gavin Conticello the chance to get home and tie it, which he did.
It would be Ben McLaughlin that would walk it off for the Sod Poodles, scoring LuJames Groover off a double.
Amarillo now leads the series, 2-1.
These two teams will be back in action Friday night at 7:05 p.m. CST at HODGETOWN.
