Temperatures will continue to climb as we officially kick-off the weekend, bringing back the summer season's familiar mix of heat and humidity to the Upper Midwest.

Average high temperatures during the middle of September usually range from the mid to upper 70s across our area. This weekend, the mid to upper 80s are forecast with heat index (real feel) values expected to break into the 90s.

If you're wondering if these temperatures will be enough to break daily records, I wouldn't get your hopes up too high.

Rochester is forecast to rise into the mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday, but record highs extend well into the 90s. The same can be said for Mason City where record highs for both Sept. 13 and 14 reached 95° back in 1939.
