It’s Week 5 of the 2025 high school football season here in Augusta. Teams are figuring out who they are at this point, raising or tempering expectations based on the last few weeks of play. But at the end of the day, the games still have to be played.

And with so much season left to play, it’s hard not to get excited for what’s to come.

This week, Thomson (2-2) heads on the road to take on an undefeated Swainsboro (4-0) squad. Cross Creek (1-2) will also be headed away as they take on West Laurens (3-0). Evans (1-2) will be hosting Brunswick (2-1), while Richmond Academy will be on the hunt for its first win (0-3) against Howard (1-2).

North Augusta (3-0) faces off against South Carolina rival Strom Thurmond (2-0) at home. Harlem (2-0) visits Baldwin (2-1) and Burke County (3-1) heads
