CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church held its Annual Greek Street Food Festival on Friday, where the community could come out and enjoy some gyros, Greek salad, souvlaki, and baklava.

St. Spyridon has been hosting a Greek food festival for 23 years, with last year being the first time it became oriented around Greek street food. Event organizers said the Greek Food Festival takes months to prepare with the last week being all hands on deck, but that it’s well worth it to share Greek culture as well as the Greek Orthodox faith.

Chairman of the Greek Food Festival Committee Kostaki Alex was happy to see so many people come out.

“Food brings people together. So what better way to bring people from the local community to Saint Spyridon than to share food with them.
