BOSTON (WWLP) - This week at the State House in Boston, lawmakers were in back-to-back meetings, events, and awareness days.
The state's top lawmakers met behind closed doors on Monday, emerging to express their concerns about increasing ICE raids and deportations in the Bay State.
Even so, lawmakers are hesitant to support a state safe communities act that would limit local law enforcement cooperation with ICE.
Senate Ways and Means issues round of recommendations
"I don't know if it's the year for that. The issue of enforcing immigration laws is a purview of the federal government," said House Speaker Ron Mariano.
The Governor made an announcement this week cutting housing production red tape by pairing down environmental approvals.
"This is about cutting red tape so we can cut mor
