COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - Developing relationships is one of the first steps a team of community partners is taking to help the homeless population in Council Bluffs.
Sgt. Dan Stuck has spent the week checking on his community. Walking through homeless encampments along the Missouri River and checking in on the people living there, is important for their Homeless Outreach Program.
“They know that we know where they’re at, we know they’re here, and then everybody else here can know who they are. Hopefully those that really want the services and need the services can get connected to those services,” said Sgt. Stuck.
For a week now, the Homeless Outreach Program team has been connecting people living in encampments with organizations that can help them get IDs, housing and medical car
