“Upload” has kept fans laughing and guessing for four seasons with its mix of comedy, romance and sharp commentary on technology. Now, the Prime Video series is coming to a close with a four-part finale that cast members say will deliver long-awaited answers.

Actress Zainab Johnson, who plays Alicia, said she was “on the edge of her seat” when learning how the story would wrap.

“Just like the fans, I was like, ‘Oh my God, who is Nathan going to be with?’” she said. “I feel like we gave them closure. It would have been too diabolical to still not know.”

Since premiering in 2020, “Upload” has built a loyal audience with its futuristic world where people can choose to be uploaded into a digital afterlife. For Johnson, portraying Alicia meant not only comedic fun but also representation.
