LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The family of a single mother from Honduras who’s been living in Louisville for more than ten years says she has been detained by ICE.

The family of Ciceli Martinez Perez told WAVE News she had been going to her Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) meetings regularly. ISAP is ICE’s Alternatives to Detention program that allows immigrants to remain in their communities while going through immigration processes.

However, her oldest son, Deivys Martinez, said she was called to a meeting on Wednesday and ICE took her to the Clark County jail.

“My mom, she’s the kindest soul,” he described her as. “Man, there’s so many ways to describe her, but the best way I can describe her is she has a motherly instinct towards anybody and everything.”
