The Seattle Mariners recalled right-handed reliever Casey Legumina from Triple-A Tacoma and designated left-handed reliever José Castillo for assignment in a corresponding move Friday.

The moves come after Seattle’s bullpen has had to cover 19 2/3 innings over the past three games, which included extra-innings contests the past two nights.

Legumina is rejoining the team after spending the past three weeks with the Rainiers. The 28 year old has a 4-6 record with a 5.79 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 51 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings over 45 appearances in the majors this season. He allowed just one unearned run and five hits while striking out eight in 5 2/3 innings over six appearances in his recent stint with Tacoma.
