CHEYENNE – After 35 years in operation, Mayor Patrick Collins’ Bicycle Station store is closing.
The decision was announced via a Facebook post Wednesday. The post reads: “After serving the cycling and fitness community of Cheyenne for the last 35 years, it is with great sorrow that (we) have decided to close the store. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last three and a half decades.”
According to a comment on the post, Collins has not set an exact closing date, but said it will be in about two months.
Collins opened the original Bicycle Station location in Cheyenne Plaza on May 28, 1991, according to the store's website . On Dec. 8, 1998, Collins moved the store to a building he designed and built at its current address, 2634 Dell Range Blvd.
