AUGUSTA — Hundreds gathered in Augusta on Friday evening for a vigil to remember the late political leader Charlie Kirk.
The event was held in Capitol Park, just across the street from the State House. The hour-long gathering included a prayer, a eulogy for Kirk, and concluded with attendees lighting candles and singing hymns.
Event organizer Kristina Parker said she was astonished by the number of people who attended.
“I personally feel a little bit of like a emotional resolution to the whole thing, and I was ready to, to get to work. I feel very inspired by Charlie, and I think this is the first step to closure for a lot of people, and was the first step for me, and I think it was really successful,” Parker said.
