KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - A four-percent proposed reduction on electricity could go a long way for those with steep bills to pay.
“It would really help out a lot,” Kinston resident Douglas Fuller says. “I mean, a $400 a month electric bill is a little rough right now. So yeah, it’d be great to see a cut.”
For many residents like Fuller, an electric rate cut would make all the difference.
“It would be helpful for everybody,” he says. “Grocery stores are high, everything’s so high. Taxes are where they’re at, so any kind of break that the city could give us would obviously be a great help.”
Kinston Public Services Director Steve Miller says the reduction has been in the works for 15 years.
