HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A new star is in town! The popular Mexican pharmacy chain, Farmacias Similares, brought " Similandia " to Hollywood, along with their beloved mascot Dr. Simi.

The grand opening took place Friday at 6818 Hollywood Boulevard.

Dr. Simi was on hand to celebrate dressed as iconic Mexican characters like El Chapulin Colorado, El Chavo del 8, a mariachi and of course the doctor's original white coat.

The store will not sell medications due to FDA regulations in the United States. Instead, the shop will focus on health products and merchandise surrounding Dr. Simi.

There will also be interactive games for customers to enjoy.
