REDDING, Calif. - Jesse Penta, the man accused of killing his mother and brother last week inside a South Redding home, was in Shasta County Cout for his arraignment this afternoon.

According to the Shasta County District Attorney's Office, Penta pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, and related enhancements. He also waived his right to a preliminary hearing after consulting with his public defender.

Penta was arrested last week on September 2nd after he called Redding Police from his home on Abernathy Lane. During his call, police say Penta admitted to killing his 47-year-old mom Chasity Milenewicz, and his 29-year-old brother Anthony Penta with a 12-gauge shotgun in an act of self-defense.
