KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In anticipation of ESPN's College GameDay, University of Tennessee students and fans have been lining up in front of Ayres Hall since early Friday morning to ensure a front-row seat.

However, many are now upset as the university announced around 5:30 p.m. Friday that fans will not be able to camp out overnight like they were able to in 2022 — the last time UT hosted College GameDay.

"I'm kind of distraught," a UT student said. "I'm really upset with how this was handled by the university, but I love the Vols — I'm going to be here whenever I can. I would still like to participate in 'College GameDay.'"

"We are excited to host College GameDay," UT told WBIR. "The set area will close at 10pm and students are welcome to return early. Gates open at 5am."
