GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - The Georgetown community is on edge after two separate shootings rocked the area within a 24-hour span.

Georgetown police confirmed that 48-year-old Mingo Reed turned himself in to officers Friday afternoon with accusations of firing several shots around 9 a.m. near Alex Alford Drive and Prince Street.

“I was working and I heard a couple of shots, like four or five shots,” Manigault, neighbor, said. Then I came around the corner and saw a whole bunch of chaos going on down there.”

On the clock for his shift at Dr. Tire, Adrian Manigault said the sound of gunfire right down the street shook him up a bit.

While those bullets didn’t end up hurting anyone, he said his heart goes out to the young people dealing with violence in this area.
