ATLANTA — What looks like a carnival midway outside Grady Hospital is raising serious concerns for first responders tasked with getting patients to the emergency room.
On Thursday night, 11Alive captured video of an ambulance blaring its siren and struggling to make its way through traffic on Jesse Hill Jr. Drive — the only road leading directly into Grady’s ambulance bay.
Both sides of the street were lined with food trucks and food trailers, creating congestion just steps from the ER entrance.
A local EMT who reached out to 11Alive after seeing the video online described the situation as common and frustrating.
The EMT asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation but said:
