RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Georgia man was killed, and another was injured after two boats collided Thursday evening on Lake Wedowee in Randolph County, authorities say.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. in the area where Little River meets Big River, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Dale M. Webb, 74, of Carrollton, Georgia, was operating a bass boat when it collided with another boat, officials said. Webb was fatally injured in the crash.
A passenger in Webb’s boat, 73-year-old Berlin A. Owens, of Woodland, was flown by helicopter to Wellstar Kennesaw Medical Center in Kennesaw, Georgia, for treatment.
ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the crash.
