BROOK PARK, Ohio – An Akron man, 36, was arrested at about midnight Sept. 5 after police found a 9 mm handgun in his vehicle.

Police were patrolling the parking lot of Travelodge by Wyndham, 14043 Brookpark Road, because it’s a high-crime area known for drug activity. They noticed a black Audi A5 moving through the lot.

The driver of the Audi was slumped behind the steering wheel, as if he were trying to hide. A front-seat passenger was wearing a hat that hid his face.

The Audi exited the hotel parking lot and headed northbound on West 140th Street. The car turned right at a red light onto Brookpark without completely stopping first.
