ABILENE The Permian football team defeated Abilene High 38-21 Friday at Shotwell Stadium.
The Panthers improved to 2-1 for the season while the Eagles fell to 2-1.
Playing against their former District 2-6A rivals, the Panthers built a 31-14 fourth quarter lead before the Eagles struck back to make it a 10-point game.
It wouldn’t be enough as Permian added one more touchdown before the final buzzer and the Panthers moved to above .500.
The Panthers will next face Amarillo Tascosa at 7 p.m. Thursday at Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo.
