Philly has no shortage of sports bars, but the one set to open on Sept. 19 on South Street will offer a unique experience: Marsha’s will be the city’s first women’s sports bar.

The business vision belongs to owner Chivonn Anderson, who told Billy Penn that the inspiration for the bar hit her in 2019 when she walked into a South Street bar and couldn’t believe that the bartender refused to put on the Women’s World Cup final game.
