The Grand Forks Red River defender reached to tip a Minot North pass up in the air. He then picked it off, made two defenders miss and ran it back 40 yards for a touchdown.
It was Red River's most impressive play Friday night.
"That was the only time we scored in the first half," Red River coach Vyrn Muir said. "That was the only time we stopped their No. 1 offense."
Minot North ran past Red River 45-14 on Friday.
"They play physical, downhill football out of their I-formation," Muir said. "To have a chance, we had to slow them down. We didn't really do that."
Brayden Blikre threw an 18-yard touchdown pass and ran for scores from 9 and 4 yards out to lead Minot North's offense.
"We just can't do quite enough right consistently to get the de
