A 12-year-old boy was killed on Friday during the Florence-Carlton homecoming parade.

The boy was riding on a Big Tex trailer pulled by a Chevy Silverado as part of the parade procession when he fell off the trailer and was run over by the trailer’s tires according to a statement released by Montana Highway Patrol on Friday night.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Florence Carlton Loop and Tie Chute Lane around 4:20 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.

The 66-year-old driver of the vehicle as well as two other passengers, ages 64 and 31, were uninjured in the accident, but the boy sustained fatal injuries.

The boy’s name has not been released at this time.
