With backup quarterback Trenton McCadney in for injured Daniel Rose, Joplin gave Nixa all it could handle throughout Friday night's football game at Junge Field in Joplin.
Nixa used a late touchdown pass from Adam McKnight to Carter Mabe on a 10-yard wide receiver screen to take a 21-14 lead with 5:27 left to play. The visitors' defense did enough to hold Joplin at bay and go on to earn a 28-14 win. ×
