Easton Royal showed Friday why he is one of the most sought-after recruits in the state.

The Brother Martin junior receiver sliced through a tough St. Paul’s defense for 243 yards and three touchdowns on nine catches, lifting the Crusaders to a 37-27 win.

From the opening kick, Royal proved he was worthy of his five-star rating. He started with an 11-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. In the second, he took a slant 73 yards for another score. In the third, he slipped past the defense for 81 yards. And then he finished the night with a 6-yard passing touchdown to Rex LeBlanc in the fourth quarter. LeBlanc barely cleared the defender’s outstretched arms.
