The Jesuit offense did not have it for much of its game against E.D.White on Friday night at Tad Gormley Stadium.
But its defense held a potent Cardinals offense to 259 yards and snuffed out a late fourth-quarter drive in a 24-21 win.
E.D. White (0-2) took possession at the 25-yard line after forcing a turnover on downs with a little more than two minutes left in the game. Grant Barbera used his arm and legs to pick up three first downs to put his team at the Jesuit 29. The Blue Jays then forced four straight incompletions to seal the win.
The senior signal caller led E.D. White with 166 yards passing and a touchdown and 69 yards on the ground.
