HANOVER TWP. — Determined to overcome a sluggish first quarter, the Hanover Area Hawkeyes rode a strong second and third quarter to a 40-0 victory against the Old Forge Blue Devils Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

With the win, Hanover Area moves to 2-2 after recording its first win at home since the 2022 season, notching a second consecutive shutout. Old Forge falls to 0-4 on the season.

“We’re young but we fight like dogs,” Hanover Area head coach Eric Richardson said. “We didn’t really have the greatest two weeks of practice and you could see it in the first quarter. We’ve got to start during the week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, really trying to get better every day.”
