The Las Vegas chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) canceled an event Friday in downtown due to what it calls “credible threats from right-wing extremists.”

Las Vegas branch co-Chair Shaun Navarro shared social media posts with the Sun proclaiming his “reckoning is here” and that they’d see him at the “DSA 101 & Social” event at 18bin, a bar and restaurant in the Arts District.

Navarro additionally said DSA’s national organization received an email threatening and mocking the leftist group. It included alleged social media posts from a local DSA member celebrating the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot Wednesday at Utah Valley University.

Navarro said the person accused of writing the posts in the email hasn’t been a DSA member since 2019.
