HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Leila Kahoano was an early contributor to the University of Hawaii women’s soccer team.
After sitting out all of last season, Kahoano made her Rainbow Wahine playing debut on Aug. 14, and immediately made an impact scoring the lone goal in their match against Long Beach State.
But her promising start was immediately cut short after she suffered a torn ACL in the second game of the year.
“I don’t really remember much of it, but I had a lot of my family here, so I was very fortunate that there were people to help me afterwards,” Kahoano told Hawaii News Now. “It was a pretty smooth recovery and not too much pain and not too much anything else.”
The Kamehameha Kapalama graduate will now have to wait even longer to play for her hometown team.
