ONEONTA – The Appalachian Eagles continued their dominance to begin the 2025 football season with a 56-0 victory over Gaylesville in Class 1A, Region 8 action on Friday night.
The Eagles (4-0, 1-0) built a 42-0 halftime advantage and went on to post their second shutout of the season.
Gabe Davidson led the Trojans (2-2, 0-2) with 30 yards on eight carries. Sean Poss posted 29 yards on five totes. Aydn Heinrich had 24 yards on 11 carries.
Davidson and Heinrich led the Trojan defense with five tackles apiece. Jared Butts and Timmy Dawson both had four stops.
Gaylesville has an open date next Friday. The Trojans’ next game is Sept. 26 at home against Verbena.
