ATTALLA – The Cherokee County Warriors broke open a tie game at halftime to take a 38-14 Class 4A, Region 6 football win at Etowah on Friday.
Keyshawn Woods led the fourth-ranked Warriors (3-1, 2-0) with 171 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Keshawn Thomas returned a kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to help tie the game at 14. He also caught a par of passes for 58 yards.
Adam Griffith ran and threw for a touchdown. He completed 4-of-7 pass attempts for 81 yards and a touchdown to Ben Moseley.
Kayden Dobbs led the Blue Devils (0-3, 0-2) with 47 carries for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
