FONDA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two of the top teams in Class C a year ago appear to have reloaded for the 2025 campaign.

Fonda-Fultonville, the No. 2 team out of the West Division last year, and Granville/Whitehall, the No. 2 team out of the East Division, went toe-to-toe Friday night in Fonda and produced an epic 48 minutes of football action.

In an evenly-matched game that saw 10 combined touchdowns - five from each team - it took something as seemingly insignificant as extra points to be the difference. Fonda-Fultonville kicker Sam Huckans went 5-5 on his PAT tries, while Granville/Whitehall elected for all two-point conversion attempts, and went 0-5. That allowed the Valley Hawks to come away with a 35-30 victory, overcoming a sterling performance from G/W senior tail back Chad Monty.
